Lamattina Top Fuel Racing will not compete in this weekend’s Mildura Mega Easter Weekend of Power Sports following a serious injury to team member Lex Wilson.
Lex, who volunteers his time with the team as the parts washer, was recently injured and is now in a serious but stable condition at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne. Lex works at Robinvale’s Pioneer Ford and is known for his dedication, hard work, and passion for the team.
“Lex is a genuinely good kid who puts his heart and soul into everything he does with us,” said team owner and driver Phil Lamattina. “Right now, all our thoughts and prayers are with Lex and his family. We want to put all our energy into doing whatever we can to support him and be there for his loved ones.”
The team extends their heartfelt thanks for the support and help received at the track during the incident—from fellow competitors, track staff, officials and volunteers. “It really shows the strength and incredible selflessness of our racing community,” concluded Lamattina.
